At Covenant, we believe that all of God's people are called and equipped for the work of mission. Therefore, we try to provide many opportunities for our people to witness outside the walls of our church. The following missions are currently active and seeking others to join them.
Covenant Young Adult to Serve in Kenya
Andrea Darby, a young adult active in the ministries of Covenant, is planning to serve a 3-month term in Kenya in the summer of 2010. Andrea will be working alongside other missionaries and Kenyans to serve AIDS orphans and other needy children. To see Andrea's missionary profile, and to help support her mission, please click here.
Serve in a Soup Kitchen Once per month, a team from Covenant purchases, prepares, and serves dinner to the needy in downtown Dothan. Approximately seven people form our church work alongside the staff of Mama Tina's Soup Kitchen in serving 100 hungry people. Anyone interested in this mission is welcome to join us one evening.
Tutor a Child A small team from Covenant helps children at Faine Elementary School in tutoring a variety of subjects. Some students need remedial help in reading, math, or other subject areas. We welcome those with a gift of teaching children to inquire further into this desperately-needed mission.
Tutor an Adult Many adults in the Dothan area need help in learning how to read, studying for the GED, and preparing for a job interview. We welcome those who are gifted in teaching one of these subject areas to inquire further about tutoring an adult.
Home Improvement for Senior Citizens Throughout the year, members of our church undertake several renovation projects for the elderly in our region. These projects include installing wheelchair ramps, minor electrical work, repairing flooring, or other repairs needed to keep senior citizens safe and healthy. We welcome people of all skill sets to participate in this mission, but those who have experience in home repair or construction are especially needed. Ask about the "Home Improvement Ministry" for more information.

Assist with a Habitat for Humanity Project We send work teams to help Habitat in building homes in the Wiregrass area. People of any age and skill set are encouraged to inquire further about the next upcoming project.
Assist in a Minor Home Repair Covenant Neighbors Ministry assists our church family members with important repairs or cleaning when they are unable to do so. When members are unable to complete a repair or cleaning because they are ill or handicapped, the church will help with minor yard work or house repairs. After the church receives a request for assistance, the church will call a person on the Covenant Neighbors list to respond. Please click here to submit an interest for Covenant Neighbors Ministry. The purpose is to be agents of God's love to our church family members.
Serve with Meals on Wheels Meals are delivered to the elderly during lunch time. Our church delivers to one route each day, Tuesday through Friday.
Go on an International Mission Trip Every August a large team from Covenant serves near a Native American reservation in Panama. This team includes a large number of medical personnel who operate a clinic. Others organize construction work, Vacation Bible School, and a variety of other ministries. Due to the large size of the team, we are considering adding a second mission trip at another time of the year. All older youth and adults who wish to serve in this cross-cultural experience are encouraged to inquire further.
