The following verbatim from the FB post by Kayla Nolan. She and several other CUMC members are currently on a mission trip in Peru.
Sorry we have not written daily, it's kind of hard to get to the computer. Getting here was a four hour bus ride to Atlanta, followed by a six our flight to Lima, arrived at the hotel at 1 o'clock, woke up at 5 o'clock for what turned out to be a twelve hour bus ride through the Andes to Huancayo, then on to a much smaller bus to Chupacka. No one really got motion sickeness just a few headaches an...d upset stomaches. The first day with the kids was great, they ran out to greet us as soon as we arrived. By the second day they called me by name without me even wearing a nametag. They are so loving and grateful. They scaled a five foot fence just to get a ball that was kicked over. The mornings are pretty rough with no heat or hot water and not to mention the horns honking all night, but when w
e get to the school the difficult parts seem to fade away. Our team works well together no matter the hardship.
