Nursery

Children are the heart of our church! The nursery staff at Covenant always strives to provide a safe, clean, loving environment for all children. Each nursery worker is required to have a background check. Our nursery staff is CPR certified and also trained on how to handle a child or an infant when choking. We thank you for the privilege of caring for your child and consider it a great reward to be a part of their lives.

Our Vision
Our Vision is to see that every child and parent who comes to our church sees and experiences the love of God, and through our children's ministry this blessing can become a reality.

Our Goal
Our goal at Covenant is to partner with parents to have a meaningful impact on the lives of our children by providing them with resources and guidance and by "coming along beside them" in the child's spiritual journey.

We do ask that each parent who has a child in the nursery at Covenant serve on a rotating volunteer schedule. Each parent then becomes a special part of our Infant/Toddler volunteer team. We do provide a paid nursery worker in each room; however, it always helps to have an extra set of hands to help them out. With approximately 40 families with children in our nursery, you should only have to serve once a quarter.

Policies and Procedures

  • All nursery workers and volunteers are required to have a background check prior to caring for our babies.
  • Only authorized nursery workers, volunteers and children are allowed to remain in the childcare rooms. Please be cautious as you are bringing your children into the nursery that no other little ones escape.
  • Once inside the nursery rooms, we do recommend a quick "Good-bye". It is much easier on the children when parents do not linger. Our nursery staff is experienced with separation anxiety and will comfort your child.
  • Childcare is provided for parents who are attending a church sponsored event. **A minimum of 3 children must be registered for nursery-care to be provided. Parents should remain at the church while children are in childcare unless there is an approved church event scheduled off campus. Parents are responsible for leaving a contact number where they can be reached in case of emergency.
  • Children must be checked in and receive a security tag each time they are dropped off in the nursery.
  • Please arrive no more than 15 minutes early to register for nursery care.
  • Please label all children's belongings (diaper bags, bottles, sippy cups, pacifier, etc.)
  • Please bring all necessary supplies that your child will need during their stay in the nursery (diapers, wipes, pacifier, change of clothes, bottle, sippy cup, etc.)
  • Please inform the childcare worker if your child has a medical condition or an allergy that we should be aware of.
  • For the well being of our children, we operate by a well-baby policy. Please do not bring your child to the nursery if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
    unusual fatigue
    fever
    vomiting or diarrhea
    excessive coughing or sneezing
    discharge in or around eyes
    green or yellow runny nose
    sore throat
    questionable rash
  • We have beepers on hand if you would like to take one with you at any time.

Nursery Rooms

Birth-9 months: Room 121 A/B (old CZ room)
10- 17 months: Room 121C
18-24 months: Room 127
We now have a new beeper system so that you can stay connected with our nursery workers during the worship service. We welcome you to use these as you see the need.

Contact Abby Rogers for more information regarding our nursery ministries.

Matthew's Ministry
Our special needs ministry is growing stronger everyday. The Matthew's Ministry caretakers provide a safe, secure and loving environment adapted to the special needs of each individual. Together our Matthew's Ministry Team continues to share the love of Christ with those who have disabilities and enable their loved ones to feel comfortable in leaving them while they can attend church. If you or someone you know of has a family member with special needs that would like to be a part of the Matthew's Ministry program, please contact Jessica Murdock.

Childcare Hours
Childcare reservations are required for all Covenant activities other than Sunday morning worship. A minimum of 3 children must be registered for nursery-care to be provided. To ensure adequate staff, reservations are required ONE WEEK in advance in writing. A nursery request form is available in the church office or can be found here.
