Dr. Hays McKay, Senior Pastor
Hays McKay joined Covenant in June 1998. He earned a Doctorate of Ministry from Drew University and received his Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology in 1982. His BA came from Huntingdon College in 1979.
Dr. McKay is married to the former Mara Powers from Opelika, Alabama. They have 2 children - Trey and Lindsey.
Rev. Kyle Gatlin, Associate Pastor
Rev. Gatlin received his Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. While attending ATS he was Assistant Minister @ Cynthiana UMC from 1987-1992. He received his Bachelors of Science in Family and Child Development from Auburn University in 1987. He worked as a Summer Youth Director in Oneonta (Lester Memorial UMC) in 1986 & 1987. He is a graduate of Citronelle High School (1983).
He is married to the former Deandra Jennings from Cynthiana, Kentucky, and they have 2 children, Sterling and Jordan.
Rev. Gatlin is a certified Mentor in the Alabama-West Florida Conference and is trained counselor for PREPARE/ENRICH program.

Dr. Mike Hoppe, Associate Pastor
Mike Hoppe is a member of our pastoral team and focuses on mission, small groups, and ministry to young adults. He received a BA from Ohio Northern University (1999), Master of Divinity from Princeton Seminary (2002) and Doctor of Ministry from Asbury Seminary (2011). Mike served as a missionary for three years in Kazakhstan and also served as a pastor in eastern Pennsylvania and western Ohio. His wife, Reed, is an ordained deacon and shares his passion for mission and God's love for the nations. Together, Mike and Reed have two young children, Susanna and Samuel.
