Dr. Hays McKay, Senior Pastor

Hays McKay joined Covenant in June 1998. He earned a Doctorate of Ministry from Drew University and received his Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology in 1982. His BA came from Huntingdon College in 1979.

Dr. McKay is married to the former Mara Powers from Opelika, Alabama. They have 2 children - Trey and Lindsey.

Rev. Kyle Gatlin, Associate Pastor

Rev. Gatlin received his Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. While attending ATS he was Assistant Minister @ Cynthiana UMC from 1987-1992. He received his Bachelors of Science in Family and Child Development from Auburn University in 1987. He worked as a Summer Youth Director in Oneonta (Lester Memorial UMC) in 1986 & 1987. He is a graduate of Citronelle High School (1983).  Rev. Gatlin is a certified Mentor in the Alabama-West Florida Conference and is trained counselor for PREPARE/ENRICH program.  He is married to the former Deandra Jennings from Cynthiana, Kentucky, and they have 2 children, Sterling and Jordan.

Dr. Mike Hoppe, Associate Pastor

Dr. Hoppe works with member mobilization- directing our members in putting "faith in action" through mission and service.  He coordinates and disciples teams for impact within the church, in the community, and throughout the world.  He attended Ohio Northern University (BA, 1999), Princeton Seminary (MDiv, 2002), and received a doctorate in mission mobilization from Asbury Seminary (DMin, 2011).  Mike served in Kazakhstan for three years as well as churches in Pennsylvania and Ohio prior to joining our staff.  His wife, Reed, is an ordained deacon, and together they have two young children, Susanna and Samuel.
